Swords of Legends Online was supposed to take advantage of the deployment of its extension The Firestone Legacy this February 24th to opt for a free-to-play model. The (double) update is delayed a bit and will be available only on March 3rd.
At the end of January, Gameforge announced the change of business model for Swords of Legends Online: the MMORPG will evolve in version 2.0, will be enriched with a first content extension (The Firestone Legacy) and will take advantage of it to opt for a free-to-play model – obviously more adapted to the competitive context of the current MMORPG offer.
The free-to-play version of Swords of Legends Online was supposed to be launched this February 24. The operator obviously needs a little more time to do so, which is therefore postponed by one week: The Firestone Legacy will be deployed on March 3 and it is on this date that Swords of Legends Online will be available for free.
According to Gameforge in a note published on the official website, the delay will allow to refine the content of the expansion but also to integrate “a large number of balance and quality of life changes for existing classes and new classes”, which were not initially planned. So we’ll have to wait another week before we can discover the new playable classes of the expansion (the Mage-Renard and the Crystal Warrior) or venture into the various new instances of the MMORPG.
