Irehon is a new action MMORPG that has been on Steam since last week. The ReMouse Games team is planning to start early access on February 1st. But what kind of game is it actually?
What is Irehon? Irehon wants to bring together the worlds of survival games and MMORPGs. The game not only relies on hand-drawn graphics in a pixel-like look, but also on a faction system. Similar to the World of Warcraft model, you are forced to join one of the two opposing factions. From this point on, there will also be open world PvP against players from the hostile faction. These fights take place, as the name suggests, in the open world of Irehon, which the developers promote as “big”. This is full of opponents and dangers and you start completely naked, as you are more used to from survival games. Then you roam the world looking for raw materials to craft weapons and equipment so that you can face the dangers in Irehon.
What are the core features? In addition to these aspects, Irehon also relies on challenging PvE content such as raids and dungeons:
- Action combat system in which you have to dodge specifically
- Exciting pixel-style graphics with hand-drawn elements
- A large, open world in which numerous dangers await you
- Raid bosses and dungeons in the PvE endgame
- Faction wars and battles in the PvP endgame
- Crafting as the main aspect of character improvement
- A classless system where you are what you wear
- Early access in just two months
When can you play? The first alpha tests have already taken place, through which one could register on the official Irehon Discord. According to the current status, the game should start in Early Access on February 1, 2022.
Since the game has been on Steam, however, since December 17th, this date has already changed three times. From December 28th, 2021 to January 31st, 2022 and now to February 1st. Nothing is currently known about Irehon‘s business model either. So we have to wait and see for now. Even if a comment suggests that it will probably be Free2Play, this has not yet been officially confirmed.
How is the community reacting? Well, not yet at all. You won’t find reviews of the first playtests and the official Discord is also relatively small with 70 members.
