Prepare to plunge into new multiplayer game modes: Fiesta, SWAT and Free-for-All.
As of today, the Halo Infinite multiplayer playlists suffer from a lack of variety. Namely, the modes featured in multiplayer are Quick Play (a combination of different 4vs4 game modes), Ranked (a variant of “hardcore” mode, with no-radar), Big Team Battle (massive 12vs12 battles), and Bot Arena (players vs AIs).
“We’ve been reading your feedback, and we’re working on plans to add Fiesta, Tactical Slayer (SWAT), and Free-For-All playlists as we speak,” John Junyszek 343 Industries community manager, announced on Twitter. “We’ll monitor playlist health after the three additions above and adjust our offering if needed, but we’re excited to make these updates before the holidays.”
The current matchmaking system also brings a problem for Halo Infinite’s players seeking to grind the challenges. Completing a challenge requiring particular modes is quite bothersome as users have no control over matches to play.
Junyszek also assured that the new game modes will be tested during upcoming special events before they are introduced into playlists.
343 Industries is also reportedly busy working on a Social Slayer playlist, first introduced in Halo 3, which combined squad-based modes such as Team Slayer, Team Rockets and others, but this playlist won’t be ready until next year.
