It seems that Microsoft’s efforts to popularize Windows 11 have born fruit. Recent Steam statistics indicate that the new operating system is popular among gamers. So, in October, its share was 1.9%, but it reached 8.3% in November, overtaking the 64-bit version of Windows 7.
Thus, now it is the second most popular operating system in the play store. At the same time, the share of Windows 10 is also decreasing. It is possible that already in 2022, Windows 11 will become dominant in the market.
Within three weeks after the release, 4.8% of the global PC market switched to the new Windows 11. And if we add beta versions for insiders to this, the share will be 5.1%.
In fact, upgrading to a new OS is constrained only by strict system requirements, although it is quite possible to circumvent them. Therefore, we should expect an avalanche-like growth. At the same time, Windows 10 21H1 and 20H2 remain the most popular. Their shares are, respectively, 37.6% and 34%. Note also that Microsoft will soon release update 21H2
