Lavapotion has announced that the fantasy strategy game Songs of Conquest will be out on Steam Early Access in the second quarter of 2022.
What is Songs of Conquest?
Songs of Conquest is an upcoming turn-based strategy game developed by Lavapotion and published by Coffee Stain Publishing. Inspired by 90s classics such as Heroes of Might and Magic III, the game is scheduled for release in Early 2022 for Microsoft Windows and OS X. It allows players to choose from four unique factions, expand their kingdoms, and wage battle by controlling powerful magicians called Wielders.
Developers and Publishers
From 2019 to May 2021, Swedish development team Lavapotion had reached over 20,000 requests to sign up for Songs of Conquest’s closed alpha test. The team has kept a direct line of communication with the public through their Discord server, complementing it with updates on their official website’s blog posts. The game’s release was initially planned for late 2020 but, likely due to the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic, the initial launch date has been postponed to early 2022.
Note that, Lavapotion is a small indie developer studio from Sweden. If at first four people were involved in the development, now the team has grown to 30.
The publisher is still Coffee Stain, and the Swedes know how to choose projects to their liking, even if some of them look ugly. It is enough to remember Valheim or Satisfactory – everything will immediately fall into place.
Songs of Conquest is a turn-based strategy game inspired by 90s classics. Lead powerful magicians called Wielders and venture to lands unknown. Wage battle against armies that dare oppose you and hunt for powerful artifacts. The world is ripe for the taking – seize it!
