The “FUT Hero” cards in FIFA 22 are a topic again thanks to a new SBC. But are the hero cards still worth it?
What’s going on in FUT Heroes? A new SBC is currently active in Ultimate Team: The FUT Hero Player Choice. If you complete it, you get a choice of 3 hero cards, from which you can grab one for your team. For this you have to exchange the following card sets:
- An 83 team with at least 2 TOTW players and 55 chemistry. A small Prime Gold Player Pack is included as a partial reward.
- Also an 84 team. It must contain at least one TOTW player and have a chemistry of 50. There is a Jumbo Gold Pack as a reward here.
According to the current market situation, the solution of the SBCs is valued at around 80,000 coins – at least if you have to buy all the players new for it. In connection with the choice, the risk is already lower than with the FUT Hero upgrade from November.
If you can solve parts of the SBC with existing player feed, the price will be reduced a little. However, you can then no longer exchange these players for other SBCs – you should consider that. But is the SBC worth 80,000 coins really worth it? Based on current hero prices, there are really only 4 cards to hope for in the SBC.
Which FUT Heroes are the top prize?
You should keep this in mind: Even if you get 3 choices when choosing a player: It is quite unlikely to draw one of the four top cards. The risk of getting one of the weaker hero cards is high.
In addition, the FUT Hero from the SBC is definitely untradeable – so you cannot earn coins with him. Therefore, the card should strengthen your team as much as possible. And there are actually only 4 real “crackers” left:
David Ginola: David Ginola is the absolute jackpot if you draw him. Still worth over a million coins, the Frenchman just has really strong values. 5 stars on skills and weak foot make Ginola extremely versatile, plus strong stats on pace, shot, pass and dribbling. It also offers links to Ligue 1, which is strong this year.
Ivan Cordoba: Córdoba is currently worth about 420,000 coins and can convince as a very strong central defender. He also has a high pace, as well as very strong defensive and physique values. The only thing that sometimes gets in the way is his height. Still, he’s a great card that brings good links to Serie A.
Abedi Pele: Like Ginola, Abedi Pelé is in Ligue 1 and can convince there with strong offensive values and the 4/4 star combination. He is currently worth around 350,000 coins on the transfer market. The card actually has everything you need for a strong playmaker. Only the physique is a bit snagged, you don’t need to defend with Abedi Pelé either.
Antonio di Natale: The price of the Italian attacker has also dropped significantly in the meantime, but is still around 300,000 coins on the transfer market. He excels in completion and brings with him a high attack rate. He is also in Serie A and can build links with Italian players.
What about the rest of the FUT Heroes?
An exception is Robbie Keane. The attacker currently costs around 70,000 coins on the transfer market, which is just below the SBC value. If you factor in the reward packs and any SBC players you might already have, it’s roughly worth the stake – but then still untradeable. But Keane can at least convince with good offensive values. This is followed by another player, Joe Cole, for 35,000 coins, as well as Morientes and Kohler for 35,000 coins each. All other heroes are below 30,000, sometimes significantly.
Overall, if you want to try your luck and have a few players who could go to the SBC anyway, you can take the risk and hope for one of the top cards. However, you can also be unlucky and draw one of the many weaker options.
